The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States revealed that 40 new cases of the “Omicron” mutant were recorded in the country at two restaurants with vaccines against the Corona virus.
According to the center’s head, Rochelle Walinsky, nearly three-quarters of Omicron infections in the United States are from people who have received the vaccine.
But the positive sign announced by Walinsky, is that those infected with the new mutation “currently suffer from mild symptoms.”
She added that private data on the new mutant is still limited, pointing to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s work to analyze the data and information in its hands, to anticipate what “Omicron” may cause.
And the British newspaper, “The Guardian”, quoted Walinsky as saying: “What we generally know is that the more mutations in the mutant, the more we need to boost immunity, which is what the booster doses of the anti-Corona vaccine contribute to.”
The official explained that the symptoms of “Omicron” that have been monitored so far are mild, and include coughing, congestion and fatigue, stressing that no deaths have been recorded due to the mutant in the United States.
On the eighth of this December, Biontech announced that the vaccine, which the company developed in cooperation with the “Pfizer” company, is still effective against “Omicron” after 3 doses.
In a statement, the company confirmed its intention to develop a vaccine for the mutant by next March.
