An ideal food for breakfast to lower blood pressure

Scientists from Australia and the United States announced that eating yogurt daily helps reduce blood pressure in people who suffer from it.
The International Dairy Journal notes that researchers from the University of South Australia, in collaboration with scientists from Maine State University, USA, studied the relationship between the diet’s containment of yogurt, blood pressure and risk factors for the development of cardiovascular disease.
In their study, the researchers relied on the data of 915 adult volunteers who participated in the Maine-Syracuse Longitudinal Study, which is devoted to cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure, which took place in Syracuse in 1974.
The researchers compared the diet of the participants in the study with the indicators of their health, and discovered that eating yogurt sometimes helps to improve the health status of those who suffer from high blood pressure. And that those who regularly eat yogurt daily decrease their blood pressure index by seven points compared to others.
Dr. Alexandra Wade says, “Dairy products, especially yogurt, are able to lower blood pressure. These products contain a number of nutrients including potassium, magnesium and calcium, which contribute to regulating blood pressure.”
She adds, yogurt also contains bacteria that are able to produce proteins, which in turn affect the level of blood pressure.
