The Compass – The total number of fixed-line subscribers decreased until the end of the third quarter of this year, to 291 thousand subscribers, compared to 302 thousand subscribers until the end of the second quarter, a rate of 3.8 percent.
According to a statistical report of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority published today, Thursday, on its website, it reached a prevalence rate of 12.78 percent among families, compared to 13.24 percent for the second quarter of the year.
The report indicated that the volume of telephone traffic consumed by fixed-line subscribers amounted to 23.8 million minutes of calls during the third quarter, including local land-based telephone traffic between governorates and international telephone traffic with countries of the world, compared with 24.01 million minutes for the second quarter of the year, distributed over traffic Domestic telephone calls with a total of 20.9 million minutes, and 2.9 million minutes for international telephone traffic.
The total mobile phone subscriptions amounted to 7.28 million subscriptions until the end of the third quarter of this year, compared to 7.02 million subscriptions at the end of the second quarter of this year, with a growth rate of 3.8 percent, distributed among prepaid subscriptions with a total of 5.53 million subscriptions, and the subsequent payment with a total of 1.75 million subscriptions. And the penetration rate of mobile phone subscriptions until the end of the third quarter was 105.08 percent, compared to 100.27 percent at the end of the second quarter of this year, according to the adult population, and 66.20 percent, according to the population, compared to 64.17 percent until the end of the second quarter of this year.
With regard to broadband Internet services, the report indicated that 296.8 thousand subscriptions were registered using Viber technology until the end of the third quarter, compared to 270.3 thousand subscriptions at the end of the second quarter, with a growth rate of 9.8 percent. In contrast, broadband Internet subscriptions were recorded using FBW technology. A) 257.1 thousand subscriptions compared to 262.5 thousand subscriptions at the end of the second quarter of this year, while the total subscriptions for Internet services using ADSL technology reached 131.9 thousand subscriptions at the end of the third quarter, compared to 135.07 thousand subscriptions with end of the second quarter of the year.
