The Syrian-Jordanian Education Program announces the results of the labor market needs study

The Syrian-Jordanian Education Program, run by the German Jordanian University, announced the results of a research study on “the needs of the Jordanian labor market.”
The study aimed to determine the needs of the Jordanian labor market and the required skills, and to evaluate employment options for Jordanian youth and Syrian refugees.
The desk study, which was based on statistics from the Chambers of Industry and Commerce in Oman, showed that there are high hopes for employment during the recovery period from the effects of the Corona pandemic.
University President Dr. Alaa El-Din Al-Halhouli said that the program, which is financed by the European Union Regional Trust Fund for the Response to the Syrian Crisis “Madad”, seeks to improve job opportunities for Jordanian youth and Syrian refugees through the establishment of this initiative, stressing the need to carry out similar employment procedures.
For his part, the Director of the Syrian-Jordanian Education Program, Dr. Dia El-Din Abu Tir, stated that the program has so far provided 2,921 scholarships in higher education to Jordanians who benefit from the national aid, zakat, safety and Tkiyet Um Ali funds, and for Syrian refugees, of whom he has graduated so far, 1444 a student.
In turn, the Director-General of the Amman Chamber of Industry, Dr. Nael Al-Husami, affirmed that the Chamber will always be ready for any cooperation that would provide job opportunities for less fortunate Jordanians and Syrian refugees.
The representative of the European Union, Giulio Ganteli, indicated that the European Union is proud to support the program, which aims to enhance job opportunities for disadvantaged Jordanian youth and Syrian refugees by providing training opportunities for graduates for a period of six months, during which they receive skills they did not learn during their regular higher education, especially that only 3% Of refugees around the world are accessing higher education, so the program invests in learning, employment and entrepreneurship.”
It is noteworthy that the Syrian-Jordanian education program funded by the European Union through the “Madad” Fund aims to provide about 3,000 scholarships for young Syrian and Jordanian refugees to pursue their higher education, obtain vocational training, or a diploma in the qualification and preparation of teachers, or participate in leadership support programs Business or preparatory courses for entry into the labor market. The program consortium includes nine local and international partners: German Jordanian Universities (consortium leader), Science and Technology, Yarmouk, Mutah, Zarqa, the University in addition to the German Academic Exchange Service, the Netherlands Organization for Internationalization in Education, the Queen Rania Teacher Academy, and Luminus University College of Technology.
