The Saudi-led Arab coalition launched air strikes in Yemen on Tuesday morning, on the capital, Sanaa, which is under the control of the Houthi group.

In a statement carried by SPA, the Arab coalition said that “the coalition has begun directing air strikes on legitimate military targets in Sana’a, and that the operation is in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.”

He pointed out that he targeted a secret site for Iranian Revolutionary Guards experts inside the capital, Sana’a, in addition to destroying a site for assembling and storing ballistic missiles, and workshops for assembling ballistic missiles at Al-Daylami base linked to Sana’a Airport.

The coalition continued: “We have taken preventive measures to spare civilians and civilian objects from collateral damage. We ask civilians not to gather or approach the targeted sites.”

On the other hand, the Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah channel confirmed via Twitter, on Sunday evening, that “the Saudi-American aggression (the coalition) launched 3 raids on Sana’a International Airport,” in addition to the September 21 park in the capital.

The conflict in Yemen is between the internationally recognized government backed by a Saudi-led military coalition since 2015, and the Iranian-backed Houthis, who have controlled large areas in the north and west of the country, as well as the capital, Sanaa, since 2014.

The conflict resulted in the killing of tens of thousands of people, including many civilians, according to several humanitarian organizations.
