France Football presented the 2021 Ballon d’Or winners in the men’s and women’s categories with a unique model of Purnell watches specially designed and developed for this event.

The Argentine star of Paris Saint-Germain, Lionel Messi, was crowned with the Ballon d’Or presented by the famous French magazine “France Football”, in a ceremony held on Monday in Paris, for the seventh time in its history.

Barcelona star Alexia Putillas won the award in the women’s category.

In addition to the Ballon d’Or, the two winners will receive an exceptional watch, presented for the first time, specially made for the occasion by the watchmaker “Pornell”.

Purnell is the official partner of the Ballon d’Or, a prestigious association between the most chosen brand that exclusively manufactures tourbillon watches and the most sought-after prize in world football.

For the Ballon d’Or award ceremony, master watchmaker Eric Coudray designed a high-speed three-axis tourbillon called the Spherion, one of the most beautiful and stunning displays of watchmaking magic one can imagine.

The rotating tourbillon cage has the shape of a football and is crafted in rose gold with a total weight of 4.14 and 18 karat.

Equipped with a mechanical movement with a 50-hour power reserve, the winner’s name will also be hand-engraved on the watch by artist Julian Colt.
