Workers at Aqaba Container Terminal go on strike

Workers at the container port in Aqaba announced their entry into an open strike, to demand justice and grant them their full rights, similar to other workers in the port.
The workers demand that a decent life be provided to them and that they are granted rights similar to other workers in the container port, in addition to the necessity of including them within the cadres of ACT (Aqaba Container Port Company), which provides them with job stability.
One of the port workers confirmed, earlier, that more than 200 workers in the container port work in extremely difficult conditions, for several reasons, the most important of which is the lack of a specific time to work and work in an unclear system, which causes them great confusion, as well as their lack of any rights, Provide them with a decent life.
In an interview with Al-Basala, he indicated that a large number of workers work for a company owned by a foreign investor in the container sector, pointing to the end of the investor’s contract, which means losing their jobs and job opportunities.
