The Director-General of the Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Nizar Mhaidat, denied the authenticity of what is being circulated on social media about the sale of donkey meat in the capital, Amman, stressing that such practices do not exist in meat-selling facilities in all regions of the Kingdom.
Mahadat indicated, in a press release issued by the Corporation today, Saturday, that all food establishments, including meat selling places, are subject to strict periodic control by the Corporation’s control and inspection teams in all of its branches, including the recently established branches in the various governorates of the Kingdom.
He called for investigating the truth, adhering to accuracy and objectivity, and referring to the institution and the competent security authorities to ensure the validity of such information before circulating it in order to avoid misleading citizens.
He also called on citizens to communicate with the Foundation in the event of any complaints or observations around the clock, through the toll-free complaint line 117114 and the e-mail info@JFDA.Jo and through the “WhatsApp” application on the number 0795632000.
