56 percent of Jordanians believe that the threat of ISIS still exists in Syria

The results of a public opinion poll in Jordan conducted by the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan today, Sunday, entitled “The Situation in Syria and the Future of the Solution,” showed that the news related to the Jordanian openness to Syria politically and economically was of interest to them.
The purpose of the poll was to get acquainted with the opinion of Jordanians about the Syrian scene in general, Jordanian-Syrian relations, the future of Syrian refugees in the Kingdom, and the current situation.
The results showed that 81 percent of Jordanians support opening the land borders, 74 percent are satisfied with the openness policy, and 68 percent are satisfied with the Jordanian leadership role in the region.
And about 52 percent said that the political and security stability in Syria today is better than it was compared to the past three years.
The majority of Jordanians believe that the repercussions of the Syrian crisis have negatively affected the Jordanian economic situation by 78 percent.
The results showed that the majority of Jordanians believe that foreign interventions have negatively affected the situation in Syria.
The results also showed that 53 percent see the return of refugees soon, within one to two years, and 71 percent of Jordanians see the return of refugees if the security and economic conditions improve.
56 percent of Jordanians believe that the threat of ISIS still exists in Syria.
And 88 percent of Jordanians believe that the Kingdom will benefit from the reconstruction of Syria, and 77 percent of them believe that it will be economic and commercial (import, export, tourism, work).
It is noteworthy that the center carried out the study in conjunction with the opening of the land border “Jaber Crossing” to the movement of freight and travelers, and talk about the transfer of Egyptian gas to Lebanon through Jordan and Syria.
