A member of the National Committee to Combat Epidemics and Communicable Diseases, Bassam Hijjawi, said that the Ministry of Health has expanded by granting the third dose of the vaccine to all age groups over 18 years.

Hijjawi added that vaccination is the only solution in light of the spread of mutant corona virus, noting that the boosted dose enhances the immunity of the individual and society, pointing out that immunity after 6 months of receiving the vaccine begins to decline; So the Ministry of Health decided to give the third dose.

He indicated to Al-Mamlaka Channel, that the deaths of the virus began to decrease to lower age groups due to the mutated “Delta”; The death of a 29-year-old man was recorded, according to what he told the Kingdom.

And he indicated that the vaccine does not prevent infection with the virus, but rather protects against its severe symptoms, stressing that everyone must adhere to preventive measures.
