The number of candidates for the Qatari Shura Council elections, who actually withdrew from the electoral race, reached 50 candidates, including three women.

According to the website of the Supervisory Committee for the Qatari Shura Council elections, the deadline for candidates to withdraw expired yesterday evening, leaving 270 candidates who will actually run in the elections that will take place on the second of next month.

Sixteen candidates registered their withdrawal yesterday, while 34 candidates announced their withdrawal during the past few days.

A few days ago, the Qatari Ministry of Interior issued a statement regarding the withdrawal, power of attorney and electoral silence for the Shura Council election candidates, in which it clarified that the candidate who wishes to withdraw must submit the request in writing on the form prepared for this purpose, and hand it over to the Elections Administration in preparation for approval by the Chairman of the Committee The nomination.
