The European Union on Friday accused Moscow of links to a hacking group calling itself “Ghostwriter”.
A statement issued by the office of the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, condemned the cyber activities linked to Moscow.
The statement indicated that the European Union monitored Moscow’s relationship with the “Ghostwriter” group, which is behind several cyber attacks.
“Such activities that threaten our (European Union) unity, security, democracy, values ​​and principles cannot be accepted,” the statement said.
The statement referred to the targeting of cyber attacks by European MPs, government officials, politicians, the media and representatives of civil society organizations.
The statement stressed that the union will continue to follow up on the file and will study taking more steps in the upcoming European meetings.
