The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the continued Israeli violations in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, the most recent of which was the extensive incursions by extremists into the mosque’s courtyards under the protection of the Israeli police, demanding their immediate halt.
Today, Thursday, the ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Haitham Abu Al-Ful, stressed that the extremists’ incursions and behavior are a violation of the historical and legal status quo, and international law, and represent an unacceptable practice that contradicts Israel’s obligations as an occupying power in East Jerusalem under international law.
The official spokesman stressed that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, with its entire area of 144 dunums, is a place of worship purely for Muslims, and that the Department of Al-Quds Endowments and the Affairs of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jordan is the legal entity with the exclusive jurisdiction to manage all the affairs of the Haram and regulate entry to it.
