Russian dietitian Alina Kogotkova revealed the basic principles of nutrition for women over 40 years old.
She pointed out that “above all, it is recommended that the daily diet contains proteins that must be present in every meal, in addition to the carbohydrates hidden in whole grains and legumes, which help to deliver the necessary amino acids to the brain.”
Kogotkova added, “At the same time, it is necessary to reduce the consumption of saturated fats, because they help to raise the level of harmful cholesterol in the blood. Saturated fats are found in meat, dairy products, coconut oil and palm oil.”
She stressed the “importance of physical activity and reduced caloric intake” and refuted the myth that metabolism slows with age.
