The security services arrested 5 people who formed a criminal group to promote narcotics in the city of Aqaba, in possession of two firearms and quantities of narcotics intended for promotion.

According to the Public Security Directorate, an investigation and follow-up team from the Narcotics Control Department began collecting information and tracking down a number of suspicious and wanted persons after information was received about their formation of a criminal group to promote narcotics in the city of Aqaba.

And it confirmed, that a security force raided the whereabouts of the suspects and wanted persons after ascertaining that they were practicing their criminal activities and possessing firearms and narcotics. The security force arrested five people, one of whom is classified as dangerous.

The directorate said that two firearms, one of them automatic, and scattered quantities of narcotics prepared for promotion were seized from them, and investigations were launched against them.
