Representative Hassan Al-Riyati questioned the government about the rights of workers in the industrial complex during 2018 and 2019 and the non-disbursement of phosphate mines to employees’ overtime allowance, which is estimated at 7,000 working hours.

Al-Riyati said in his interrogation: “Why did the Phosphate Mines Company not pay the 7,000-hour overtime allowance for workers in the industrial complex in 2018-2019?”

He asked: “Why did the Phosphate Mines Company not pay the overtime allowance to employees during the comprehensive ban period during the month of 4/2020?”

He called on the government to clarify why, since the beginning of 2021, the company has not registered overtime work with the payroll department and has not been credited to employees, and why drivers are deprived of overtime allowance on a daily basis?

He also called on the government to clarify about forcing employees to work overtime during official holidays and no additional allowance is paid, and leaves are counted for them as an additional allowance, knowing that employees cannot take official vacations due to work pressure, and those who refuse to work overtime are punished.

He concluded his interrogation with an inquiry about the transfer of union member Wasfi Younis Al-Smadi, and why he was punished with arbitrary transfer outside Aqaba governorate because he only demanded the rights of employees in the overtime allowance.
