The Emirati academic, Abdul Khaleq Abdullah, acknowledged his country’s interference in the affairs of Arab countries, with the aim of what he called “fighting the Brotherhood.”
Abdullah said in a tweet via “Twitter”, “After a decade of difficult confrontations, the UAE emerged victorious in the battle against the absurdity of the Brotherhood, and was able to stop its advance throughout the Arab world, and contributed to strengthening the axis of stability and moderation in the face of the forces of terrorism and chaos.”
He continued, “Now the UAE is heading towards a new summit and is preparing for more important national, national and global tasks for the coming decade.”
Activists said that what Abdul-Khaleq Abdullah tweeted was a clear recognition of Abu Dhabi’s interference in the sovereignty of Arab countries.
The UAE is accused of supporting and financing counter-revolutions in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen and others, despite its official denials.
During the last period, semi-official Emirati media celebrated the coup against the constitution carried out by Tunisian President Qais Saeed, considering it a “victory over the Brotherhood represented by the Ennahda Party.”
