Some people prefer to start their day with a cup of coffee, knowing that this can cause acidity in the stomach, and experts advise the need to change this habit.
And coffee is one of the foods and drinks that one does not prefer to start the day with, in order to enjoy good health, according to nutrition experts, who confirm that the work of the body’s organs is slow in the morning, and this requires eating light things that do not disturb the body.
Among the things that a person prefers to avoid at the beginning of his day when his stomach is empty:
Coffee: For some, drinking coffee seems to be an easy way to get rid of drowsiness, but drinking it on an empty stomach can lead to acidity. This stimulates the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the digestive tract, causing gastritis in some.
Cold drinks: Eating iced drinks on an empty stomach damages the mucous membranes and slows digestion, while lukewarm drinks are better, because they help the body’s metabolism.
Spicy foods: eating spices on an empty stomach irritates the lining of the latter, which often leads to indigestion and acidity in the stomach.
Alcohol: With no food in the stomach, alcohol travels directly into the bloodstream, where it is rapidly distributed throughout the body, causing blood vessels to widen and resulting in a temporary feeling of warmth, a temporary decrease in the pulse rate, as well as an increase in blood pressure.
Chewing gum: Chewing gum is not a good thing, because chewing pushes the digestive system to produce more acids, which may damage the stomach lining, where there is no food, and repeating this may lead to ulcers.
