The drug smuggling file was at the top of the military talks that took place between the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, and the Minister of Defense / Chief of Staff of the Syrian Army, General Ali Ayoub, yesterday, Sunday, in the capital, Amman, according to what informed sources confirmed.

Quoting the “Reuters” news agency, the sources said that the talks, which took place during the first visit of their kind since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis nearly 10 years ago, dealt with the significant increase in drug smuggling in recent months, which Jordanian officials believe that Hezbollah is standing by. behind her.

The General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army said that Hunaiti and Ayoub discussed issues of common concern, foremost of which is coordinating efforts to ensure the security of the common borders between the two countries, the situation in southern Syria, combating terrorism and joint efforts to confront cross-border smuggling, especially drug smuggling.
