The Parliamentary Administrative Committee discussed, during a meeting held today, Monday, the demands of a number of female educational supervisors in the Ministry of Education, which relate to item 8 of the educational supervision document for the year 2021.
The head of the committee, MP Dr. Ali Al-Tarawneh, said that this clause stipulates that: “The educational supervisor is obligated to visit male and female schools, which constitutes some embarrassment for females to visit male schools.”
He added, while presiding over the meeting, in the presence of the head of the Parliamentary Education and Youth Committee, Dr. Bilal Al-Momani, two deputies, Muhammad Al-Shatnawi and Safa Al-Momani, the Secretary-General for Educational Affairs in the Ministry of Education, Nawaf Al-Ajarmeh, a number of the ministry’s stakeholders and female educators supervisors, that the committee demanded that this item be amended out of respect for the privacy of the educational supervisor.
For his part, Al-Ajarmeh praised the role of educational supervisors, pointing to the appointment of a large number of educational supervisors during the last period, more than the previous years.
Regarding the amendment of Item 8, Al-Ajarma explained that the focus will be on the educational supervisor visiting female schools, and in the event that there is no supervisor visiting male schools, the supervisor will visit them.
He indicated that male schools are open to female supervisors and vice versa, and in the event that the supervisor or supervisor has privacy in visiting any school, it will be taken into consideration.
