A consultant in immunology and allergy, Adviser to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for Medical Affairs, Brigadier General Dr. Adel Al-Wahadneh, confirmed that a single dose of the Corona vaccine is not enough and does not constitute protection from the virus if it is not enhanced with the second dose.
Al-Wahadna added, during a dialogue session held by the Scientific Committee of the Medical Syndicate yesterday, that “Jordan does not suffer from the problem of a lack of Corona virus vaccines, but there is a weak turnout, noting that Jordan has proven outstanding success in confronting the Corona pandemic through the development of the health sector and the provision of vaccinations.
He said, “Jordan is living a great blessing through the availability of vaccines and the diversity of methods of giving them through the distribution of vaccination centers and the provision of some of them from inside vehicles, while many countries of the world suffer from a scarcity of vaccines,” noting that the higher the percentage of vaccines, the lower the number of mutagens, which are usually fierce, and that maintaining preventive measures is important even after taking the vaccine, especially since the proportion of those who received the vaccine is still relatively low.
Al-Wahadneh stressed that the vaccines have proven their efficacy regardless of the effectiveness of the vaccine, indicating that as long as the competent authorities agree to the vaccine, this means that it is safe and useful, noting that Jordan’s history and experience in vaccines is distinguished, and it was able during the Corona crisis to develop these capabilities in a studied manner and far from the Fazaa system. Moreover, the capabilities of the health sector have developed and the family capacity in the health sector has increased every year in Jordan.
And he indicated that there is more than one way to deal with Corona vaccines, including vaccines for killed viruses, vaccines that take part of the protein, and vaccines that take the genetic material, indicating that the vaccines will not enter the genetic code of the recipients of the vaccine and that talking about such matters are just rumors.
He pointed out that since the second wave, Corona injuries in Jordan have become stable and around the acceptable rates for several reasons, the most important of which is the demand for receiving the vaccine, in addition to sound health procedures in Jordan, calling on those who did not receive the vaccine to demand it.
He stressed that the Corona vaccine is completely safe for pregnant women, noting that studies have proven that antibodies against this virus have been found in children born to pregnant mothers who received the vaccine, considering that at the global level, every person is a Corona project until the opposite is proven, especially since there are Asymptomatic infections remain silent, and that a vaccine is the only way to get rid of the disease.
On the comparison between vaccinations, Dr. Al-Wahadna said that all vaccines are able to protect against the virus, regardless of the numbers that are announced and the rates of efficacy of the vaccine, denying that the vaccine gives a false positive result when examining the “BCR” for the Corona virus.
For her part, a member of the Syndicate Council, chair of the Scientific Committee of the Medical Syndicate, Dr. Maysam Akroush, stressed that obtaining the vaccine reduces symptoms and the rate of admission of infected people to hospitals, and constitutes great protection and reduces the death rate to a large degree, calling on everyone to receive vaccinations and register for them.
