Al-Dustour newspaper, through its editor-in-chief, Mustafa Al-Riyalat, launched a scathing attack on what it described as “fake ISIS accounts” targeting the newspaper, in reference to accounts belonging to the Al-Wihdat club that criticized an editorial error in which the newspaper indicated that skirmishes occurred between the two republics of Al-Wehdat and Salt during the match that brought them together on Thursday. The match was held in the presence of the fans of Al-Salt only, in line with the instructions of the Jordanian Federation.

The online newspaper “Akhbar Al-Jordan” learned that the management of Al-Wehdat Club assigned the Legal Affairs Department to proceed with the procedures for filing a case against Al-Dustour newspaper and its editor-in-chief against the background of the article.

And the riyals wrote today, Monday, “A few days ago, on the Jordanian trend, the hashtag # Media_Pay_Roya_Dustour was issued as a result of an unintended mistake in the editorial department of the website regarding the news of the recent Al-Wehdat match with Al-Salt Club, when it was mentioned that his fans were in the match unintentionally, as he was dealt with professionally. And professionalism by the newspaper’s editorial department, but the matter did not stop there, and “hashtags” were issued by activists on social media, showing “the existence of fake ISIS accounts” targeting the newspaper.

Rialat claimed that among the accounts that targeted the newspaper were “a terrorist of thought, including accounts exploited by the terrorist organization ISIS to deliver its messages by promoting sexual tonics.”

For his part, prominent sports analyst Haitham Al-Daraghmeh wrote, on his Facebook page, that Al-Dustour newspaper should have apologized for what it previously published regarding the Al-Wehdat fans, who were not present in his team’s match with his brother Al-Salt.

He added, “It was courageous to apologize and consider it an unintended mistake, but instead to publish that there are fake accounts attacking the newspaper and considering them as ISIS pages. News after clarification and apology from him, but it is not possible to accept justification for greater offenses, unfortunately.”
