British scientists have discovered that reducing food calories and its quantity, while eating it at work, schools and universities, helps reduce obesity in the population.
And the journal PLOS Medicine notes that, according to researchers, people get 15 percent of their calories from eating at work. To do this, the researchers changed the diet of 19 restaurants in supermarkets for 25 weeks.
The changes included replacing high-calorie foods with low-calorie foods, which led to a decrease in the amount of calories that a person obtained by 11.5 percent, compared to the 50 kilocalories that he was getting per day previously.
The researchers note, that this also led to a decrease in restaurant profits by 5.7 percent, but after a while it returned to its previous level.
It is reported that a nutrition expert in the United States revealed last May about foods that help reduce weight, such as beans, lentils, chickpeas, and others, as eating them leads to a moderate decrease in weight, even in the absence of calorie restrictions in foods.
