The American police announced the discovery of a girl from Florida who disappeared 14 years ago, as she was kidnapped when she was six years old.
According to the Claremont Police Department, Angelica Vinces Salgado, the mother of Jacqueline Hernandez, now 19, who disappeared in 2007, said that “a girl contacted her on social media claiming to be her kidnapped daughter” and told her she was in Mexico and wanted to meet her at the Texas border on September 10.
She said the meeting was arranged and then intercepted by authorities at the Laredo Texas border entry point, where officials sought to confirm whether Jacqueline Hernandez was the missing girl.
The police report said: “Based on documents submitted to the Angelica and Claremont police, it was found that the girl, Jacqueline Hernandez, who was kidnapped from her mother in 2007 and Jacqueline was reunited with her mother.”
Police later released a photo of the two embracing.
In 2007, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said that Hernandez was “kidnapped by her father, Pablo Hernandez” on December 22 of that year.
A search warrant was issued for him, and investigators suspected he might have taken Hernandez to Mexico.
