Doden: No sale to Queen Alia Airport or Aqaba port

The Minister of State for Media Affairs, the official spokesman for the government, Engineer Sakhr Dodin, confirmed that Queen Alia International Airport was not sold, but rather an agreement was signed to rehabilitate and operate it for a period of 25 years, ending in 2032, and it is wholly owned by the government.
He added during a symposium organized by the Amman Group for Future Dialogues today, Saturday, that the airport has become among the best airports in the Middle East, and ranks 29 globally, and annually generates more than (54%) of its total revenues for the treasury.
Doudin also touched on the rumors that talked about selling the port of Aqaba, stressing that it is not true, and the number of ports in Aqaba (16) ports, all of which are owned by the government through the Aqaba Development Company, and Aqaba Container Port is also owned and operated by a foreign company for 25 years, and it has invested 400 million dinars for its processing.
He pointed out that the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) is 100% owned by the government, and the government also owns 82% of the Royal Jordanian Company.
