The Minister of Justice Participates in an International Conference on “Recovering Money Stolen by Corruption”

Compass – Minister of Justice Ahmed Al-Zayadat participated in the opening session of the international conference, which will be held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, under the title of recovering money looted by corruption in the period between 15-16/9/2021.
The convening of this conference comes after the issuance of a study by the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice for the year 2020 entitled “Recovering the Stolen Funds”: How, Procedures, and Available Means.
And the desire to translate this work into an international conference in which it simulates Arab and international experiences in fighting corruption and recovering looted funds and benefiting from them at the Arab and international levels.
This conference, whose activities were launched under the auspices of the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and in the presence of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit and a number of Arab justice ministers, aims to strengthen Arab international cooperation and the efforts of the Arab League to combat corruption and recover money looted by corruption, and to come up with recommendations to be submitted to the Council of Arab Justice Ministers With the aim of activating Arab cooperation protocols to recover money looted by corruption.
It is noteworthy that this conference was organized by the Iraqi government represented by the Ministry of Justice, the Arab Center for Legal and Judicial Research, and the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice in the League of Arab States.
