The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, the preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, warned against the calls launched by the alleged temple groups and extremist organizations against Palestinian sanctities, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, with the aim of harming them.

And the Mufti indicated in a press statement, today, Monday, that these groups demand the occupation authorities to allow them to enter seats and Bible books, with the aim of studying in the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as allowing their rabbis to deliver biblical lectures to the intruders of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in addition to their demand that the occupation authorities open the doors of Al-Aqsa All of them to facilitate the intrusion and not to limit it to the Moroccan Gate only.

He condemned the occupation authorities’ provision of protection to these extremist groups that storm the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque daily, in very large numbers, while they are wearing priests’ clothes and blowing trumpets, under the pretext of Jewish holidays, stressing that these violations require an immediate Arab and Islamic response.

He appealed to the relevant bodies and organizations to intervene to stop these violations against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning that the occupation authorities, with these practices, are pushing the region into a religious war from which no one will be spared, in order to please extremist groups whose goal is to demolish the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and establish the alleged temple in its place. On the other hand, Mufti Hussein denounced the decision of the unjust Israeli occupation authorities to close the Ibrahimi Mosque more than once during the past days in front of Muslim worshipers, under the pretext of Jewish holidays, indicating that the closure is an aggression and a heinous crime for causing it to deprive Muslim worshipers of performing their religious rites.

He added that the heavenly religions forbid touching the holy places designated for worship, and affirm their sanctity, and international laws and norms stipulate respecting the sanctities of others and not touching them or their people in order to preserve freedom of worship, but the occupation authorities deny all of that. He stressed the need to stop these attacks that deprive Muslims of access to their places of worship, rejecting the justifications offered by the occupation authorities to take such arbitrary and unfair decisions that violate international laws and laws, and contradict the charters that protect freedom of worship and access to its places.
