The Ministry of Water and Irrigation confirmed, this evening, Sunday, through its media spokesperson, Omar Salama, that the preliminary results indicate a high percentage of iron and manganese in the red water samples that appeared in a pond near the Dead Sea.

He added, in his interview with the “Pulse of the Country” program on Roya channel, that the formation of this red water may be a result of high temperature and the presence of some algae or the concentration of minerals surrounding the soil, which has an effect on adding color, indicating that the ministry is waiting for the final results to appear.

Salameh stressed that the samples drawn by the ministry’s specialized cadres need careful examinations, and their cultivation takes a few days.
