On Friday, the leader of the Danish extremist “Hardline” party Rasmus Paludan threw a copy of the Holy Quran on the ground in Stockholm, with the aim of provoking the feelings of Muslims in Sweden.
Anadolu Agency reported that the leader of the extreme right-wing party, “Baludan,” stood in front of the large “Vitja” mosque of the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs, holding a copy of the Holy Qur’an, amid strict security measures, while the surroundings of the mosque were empty.
After that, Baludan went to the Vitja neighborhood, which includes Turks and Muslim refugees in abundance, and threw the Holy Quran on the ground, which made him face sharp criticism from the residents.
Subsequently, the citizen of Turkish origin, Fethi Kan, argued with the police officers who provided protection to the Danish extremist.
Kan said, that throwing and burning the Qur’an is never personal freedom, adding, “We respect the Bible and believe in our Lord Jesus, peace be upon him. It is not possible for any Muslim anywhere to try to burn the Bible.”
Addressing the police, he added, “Why do you allow this psychopath to insult the Qur’an and annoy Muslims here (?)”.
Police excluded Balodan from the scene after the increased frequency of criticism.
According to the reporter, Paludan carried out similar provocative actions in other Muslim-majority neighborhoods of the Swedish capital, Stockholm, such as Rinkeby, Scherholmenen and Tensta.
