Today, Friday, a third European country announced that it is preventing Israelis from entering its territory, against the background of the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.

Yesterday (Wednesday), Portugal announced its compliance with the European Union’s recommendation to ban the entry of Israelis, followed by Sweden on Thursday.

According to the Israeli Channel 12, the Netherlands announced, today, Friday, that it will not allow entry to unprotected Israelis.

The Dutch restrictions, which will come into effect from Saturday, state that only vaccinated Israelis who will present a negative test result can enter the country, and the same visitors will be required to remain in quarantine for 10 days.

Although the EU’s decision to exclude Israel from the list of green countries is not binding, it does constitute a recommendation for the 27 member states to severely restrict entry from countries where the virus has spread widely.

After Portugal, Sweden and the Netherlands, Italy is also expected to impose restrictions on Israeli passport holders.

And last Tuesday, the European Union decided to remove six countries from the list of green countries, including the United States, Israel, Kosovo, Lebanon, Montenegro and North Macedonia.

Israel has witnessed unprecedented outbreaks of the Corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic last year, against the background of the outbreak of the delta mutator, which prompted Tel Aviv to start vaccinating citizens with a third dose of the vaccine.

Yesterday, Thursday, the Israeli Ministry of Health recorded 11,210 new infections with the Corona virus, in light of the outbreak of the mutated Delta.
