The Tik Tok platform introduced new procedures and measures to protect its teenage users, as it will turn off notifications for users aged 13-15 years after nine o’clock at night, and after ten o’clock at night for those aged 16 and 17.

The main reason for taking this step is a desire to reduce pressure on teens to interact, at least after a certain hour of the night for these age groups, which recent research has shown to be much more vulnerable than older age groups.

TikTok indicated that it wants its teenage users to better understand and control who uses what they post, and how to do it.
