A recent study conducted by King’s College London, concluded that full vaccination against Covid-19 reduces not only infection with it, but also the transformation of that infection into a long-term Covid.
According to the BBC, the results of the study showed a decrease of about 50 percent in the persistence of symptoms of corona for more than four weeks among people who contracted the virus despite taking two doses of the vaccine.
She added that most people with corona recover within four weeks, but some symptoms persist for months after the initial infection, in what is sometimes known as long-term Covid.
In the study published in The Lancet medical journal, the researchers say that taking vaccinations has proven effective in preventing the deterioration of the condition of the infected, but the effect of vaccines on the length of the infection has not been confirmed to the same degree.
Claire Steves, leader of the research team, recommended that older people who are more vulnerable to infection than others get booster doses of the vaccine.
The authority indicated that 78.9 percent have so far received the full vaccine in two doses against Covid in the United Kingdom.
