The rate of community immunity against the Corona virus in Jordan has reached 74%, according to a member of the National Epidemiological Committee, Bassam Al-Hijjawi, on Thursday; This is based on a study prepared by the Ministry of Health.
Al-Hijjawi told Al-Mamlaka that “the study of societal immunity and the rates of immunity spread among Jordanian citizens, as announced, reached 74%.” He pointed out that this percentage “did not come from the vaccination alone, but also came from those who were previously infected.”
But Hijjawi said: “In light of the fact that immunity decreases, whether societal, or through vaccination or hypotheses that say that the disease may turn into seasonal, and after 10 months we may need to give a third dose, then, we will continue to deal with the pandemic in a clear scientific manner, in addition to To raise immunity through vaccination.
“Vaccines are essential to raising societal immunity in order to reach a safe situation,” according to Al-Hijjawi, who said, “The pandemic is still spreading.”
Al-Hijjawi urged “commitment to wearing a muzzle, and physical distancing, in addition to adhering to health protocols.” He called for receiving the vaccine against the Corona virus, which leads to achieving protection.
He pointed out that “two doses of any vaccine approved protects against corona strains,” stressing that the delta mutator is prevalent in Jordan.
