The Israeli occupation intelligence decided to prevent the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, from meeting or talking with several Palestinian figures in the occupied territories in 1948.
Lawyer Khaled Zabarka told “Safa” news agency on Thursday that the occupation intelligence prevented Sheikh Sabry from talking or meeting with Sheikh Raed Salah, Sheikh Kamal Khatib, Suleiman Ahmed, Fawaz Agbari and Muhammad Amara.
He explained that the occupation intelligence is making false allegations that “the meeting of Sheikh Sabri with these figures harms Israel’s security in the city of Jerusalem.”
He wondered, “How does the occupation issue a decision to prevent Sheikh Sabri from meeting the prisoner Sheikh Raed Salah while he is inside the prison,” noting that there is no real reason to prevent the Sheikh from meeting anyone, and this is his right.
He added that this decision represents a kind of separation of Sheikh Sabri from the public of the occupied interior, and from the political figures there. Through this, “Israel” is trying to break up the Palestinian social fabric and put barriers between Jerusalem and the interior.
He added that this is part of the attempt to separate all the components of the Palestinian people, stressing that the occupation wants to remove all strengths from Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the movement that contributes to the movement of society and directs towards the cause of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa.
He considered that these are arbitrary measures that come for political goals, namely emptying the Al-Aqsa Mosque of its visitors, and weakening social relations between the vehicles of the Palestinian people in all its places of residence.
Commenting on the military decision, Sheikh Sabri considered the decision illegal, inhumane and uncivilized, saying: “Any person in the world can communicate with the world through social networking sites, because the methods of communication these days are multiple.
In a statement to Safa news agency, Sabri added, “There is no justification for such decisions that try to restrict people in their movements and speeches,” considering that this decision contradicts freedom of speech and movement, and I strongly reject it.
He explained that “the occupation is trying to find any method to restrict the movement and activities of citizens, and it has declared and undeclared intentions regarding that, but this does not concern us.”
He stressed that “the people of Palestine, from the sea to the river, are one people and one family, regardless of the political differences, and the Palestinian people will remain united despite all the circumstances they live in.”
And the occupation authorities had previously banned Sheikh Sabri from traveling for four months, claiming his “hostile activity and posing a threat to the security of the occupying state.”
He was also arrested several times, the last of which was on the tenth of last March, and he was repeatedly deported from Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings for several months.
