Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo broke the international goal record on Wednesday after scoring his 110th goal for Portugal and extending it in the same match, scoring another goal.

Ronaldo, who joined the Manchester United team, scored two goals against Ireland in a match in the European qualifiers for the World Cup 2022, which Portugal won 2-1.

The Portuguese captain set the record in the 89th minute, his 110th goal with the national team.

Thus, Ronaldo surpassed former Iranian striker Ali Daei, who scored 109 goals for his country between 1993 and 2006.

Ronaldo equaled Daei’s record at Euro 2020 this summer.

He then extended his record against Ireland on Wednesday to 111 goals, scoring again in stoppage time.

Ronaldo now has 111 goals in 180 caps for Portugal.
