On Thursday, King Abdullah II arrived in Cairo to participate in a tripartite summit with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, within the framework of continuous coordination and consultation between the three countries.

The king’s participation in the summit comes as part of the diplomatic effort he is leading to support the Palestinian brothers in obtaining their legitimate rights and improving their living conditions, as well as creating the appropriate atmosphere for the resumption of negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis, on the basis of the two-state solution.

Prince Ali bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Vice King, in the presence of the ministry.

The tripartite summit will be held in Cairo, which aims to urge the administration of US President Joe Biden to “fulfill its promises to preserve the two-state solution” to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, according to the official Palestinian news and information agency “Wafa”.

On the sidelines of the summit, bilateral meetings will be held, according to the “Kingdom” correspondent.

Jordan, the guardian of Islamic and Christian holy sites in the city of Jerusalem, constantly affirms the centrality of the Palestinian cause and its adherence to the two-state solution.

His Majesty King Abdullah II, the first Arab leader to meet Biden, stressed the need to work to relaunch serious and effective negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Cairo on Wednesday, according to the Palestinian ambassador to Egypt, Diab al-Louh.

“Good position”

Abbas stressed, on Wednesday evening, that “the current US administration’s position is good, and it is with the two-state solution and the non-settlement expansion, and against unilateral actions,” referring to its announcement of its “decision to reopen its consulate in East Jerusalem.”

He added, during his meeting with Egyptian journalists in Cairo ahead of the tripartite summit, “We are in continuous contacts with the American administration,” explaining: “Public opinion in the United States has undergone a qualitative change, and this is not only in the American street, but within the deep state, where the American public mood began describing Israel is racist and aggressor and commits war crimes, including American Jews, and a large number of American churches issued statements condemning the occupation.”

The upcoming Jordanian-Palestinian-Egyptian summit will “discuss the international strategy and how to move in the world and the Arab community as well, because Egypt and Jordan have influence at the regional and international levels,” according to Abbas, who stressed “the need to adhere to the Arab peace initiative.”

Abbas reiterated that “the only way to security and peace for all is only by ending the Israeli occupation of the occupied territories of the State of Palestine,” as well as “accelerating the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions related to the Palestinian issue, through the convening of an international conference under the umbrella of the United Nations and the participation of the International Quartet and the expansion of this participation Arab and international before other parties, and put an end to the Israeli arrogance that behaves as if it is above the law and international conventions.”
