Al-Shraideh: 480 million dinars, the value of the government’s economic work priorities program

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Al-Shraideh said: The goal of the government’s economic work priorities program 2021-2023 is to return the national economy to its track in order to achieve recovery and growth with a total expenditure of 480 million dinars.

Al-Shraideh added that 53 priorities have been identified, distributed over three axes: improving the investment environment, enhancing private sector competition to contribute to providing job opportunities, and supporting priority sectors.

Al-Shraideh indicated that the measures to stimulate the investment environment include reducing the costs of electric energy on specific sectors, restructuring the customs tariff and reducing costs for licensed microfinance companies, adding that activating major projects and working with the private sector by launching 5 infrastructure projects at a cost of 260 million dinars during the year. And preparations for the launch of work on the first phase of the national railway network project, the regional electrical interconnection project, the development of the Hamza oil and Risha gas fields, and the improvement of the quality of public transport services.

Al-Shraideh stressed the extension of the sustainability program for a period of 6 months during 2022 AD, and a national program to stimulate the private sector to operate, with a total value of 180 million dinars for both programmes.
