The yellow diamond was mined in Kimberley, South Africa in 1877, and is one of the largest diamonds of its kind ever discovered. Charles Lewis Tiffany, founder of Tiffany & CoHe purchased the diamond the following year and has been with the company ever since, weighing 128.54 carats.
