The brother of the fugitive Afghan president, Ashraf Ghani, announced on Saturday his allegiance to the Taliban, days after it took control of large areas of Afghanistan, the last of which was the capital, Kabul.

And Afghan media published a video clip, showing Heshmat Ghani Ahmadzai, while he pledged allegiance to Taliban leader Khalil Rahman.

Heshmat Ghani, who heads the Grand Council of Kush (Bedouins) in Afghanistan, held no official position during Ashraf Ghani’s eight-year presidency.
