“The Forum for Training and Empowerment of Women and Children” launches the Charter of Financial Women’s Rights

The participants in the launching ceremony of the Charter of Women’s Financial Rights, which was held by the Training and Empowerment Forum for Women and Children this morning, stressed the importance of this charter to be a clear reference for women’s financial rights in defining basic rules for these rights in Islamic Sharia that are consistent with the culture and principles of society in light of the projects that target the family. And women and their role in society under the bright titles of suspicious goals.
Speakers at the ceremony, in which a group of academic, trade union, media and political figures and representatives of a number of civil society organizations and human rights organizations participated, pointed to the need to build on this charter within the working project for empowering the family and achieving complementarity in the relationship between men and women, and correcting cognitive and intellectual deviations that people circulate in society. With regard to women’s financial rights, and the delivery of this charter to the largest segment of society by various available means.
The educator, Omaima Al-Akhras, who presented the ceremony, confirmed that the launch of this charter comes from the reality of women and the emergence of some ideas and problems based on a set of erroneous ideas, beliefs and values, and out of the legitimate duty to state the financial rights of women; This charter was the result of a collective effort in which a number of Sharia and legal scholars and sociologists participated at the invitation of the Women and Child Training and Empowerment Forum.
Al-Akhras pointed out that this charter comes to define basic rules for emphasizing the financial rights of women in Islamic Sharia; In harmony with the culture and principles of society, and with the sound mind of the various intellectual trends of the members of society, taking into account the dimensions of technological development and cultural openness that imposed many changes in the social reality, the conditions of individuals and their needs in the family and society.
While the chairperson of the forum, Dr. Maysoon Rawashdeh, spoke about the most prominent details of the charter, which came from the reality of the challenges of women and the family in light of global changes, and to empower the family, which is the basic building block in building societies and the main incubator of values, and emphasizing the vital role of women in maintaining the family and the stability of society.
Darawshe pointed out that the Women and Child Training and Empowerment Forum, which presents this charter, aims to enhance the positive and required role of women in building societies and preserving the family in accordance with the system of Islamic principles and values, in order to achieve the Forum’s vision of building a cohesive and fortified family, an incubator of Islamic values, a protector of its members and beneficial to its community.
For her part, Dr. Bayan Fakhri, in a speech on behalf of the charter preparation committee, referred to the efforts that have been made over 3 years for this charter, its scrutiny and revision, with the participation of experts, specialists and specialized bodies, foremost of which is the Association of Jordan Scholars, the foundations on which the charter is based, and the challenges facing women and the family. Within the project to empower the family and achieve integration between men and women.
Fakhri stressed that the charter comes to provide realistic and scientific evidence to achieve several goals, the most prominent of which is to provide general principles to confirm women’s financial rights as revealing and not establishing these rights, declaring women’s financial rights in accordance with Islamic legislation, and exposing negative practices that harm women’s social status in the family and society. With regard to the financial rights of women, and in a way that serves to promote positive practices, support women to enjoy their full financial rights approved by Sharia and legislation, and emphasize the complementary role between men and women in building the family on the basis of dual rights and duties.
The charter also aims to correct some procedures related to laws that do not assist women in fulfilling their rights, such as exit procedures in the inheritance law, raising societal awareness in general, and women’s awareness in particular of women’s rights and duties and the reality of the roles entrusted to them, and cooperating with official bodies, judicial bodies, human rights institutions, scientific bodies and scholars Those with competence to reach agreed upon formulas that help women protect and preserve their financial rights.
Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sartawi of the Association of Jordan Scholars spoke about the importance of the charter, which the association participated in its scrutiny, examination and adoption, pointing to the interest in the issue of women in the international community, and its cause is used by some parties for the purposes of describing it as malicious and targeting the nation and the generation, as he stressed. On the interest, care, and fairness of rights enjoyed by the family in Islam, given that it is the centerpiece of the family, which must be based on affection, cooperation and tranquility to achieve its lofty goals in the reconstruction of the universe and the upbringing of the generation.
Al-Sartawi emphasized the equality and justice achieved by Islam between men and women while respecting their privacy, in the face of what the enemies of Islam plot against, who target the Islamic family and society, which requires alertness to these intrigues and awareness of their danger. He also stressed the importance of educational curricula and purposeful media in preserving the values ​​of Society and the family in the face of the systematic campaigns targeting them.
The charter consists of 15 principles, concerned with the obligation to respect women’s financial rights and financial independence, and to take into account the status and social conditions of women in legislation related to all sectors of work available to women.
During the ceremony, a video presentation was presented about the provisions of the charter, and a dialogue was held between the participants about the provisions of the charter and ways to build upon and expand this project.
