Despite the widespread shock caused by the fall of Afghan citizens, who had clung to a large American military plane, which took off from the capital’s airport, Kabul, with the start of the Taliban movement on the country, an American merchant took a terrible step.
The horror of the tragic scene did not prevent an American e-commerce store, from displaying a new shirt for sale that mocked the Afghan citizens who fell from the American plane, when they were attached to it from abroad, in a desperate attempt to escape from Kabul, which is in the hands of the Taliban.
The T-shirts, which were described as “disgusting”, were announced on social media platforms around the world, just a few days after the tragic incident.
Critics said that the T-shirts are “offensive and trade in the suffering of the people of Afghanistan”, especially as they put the words (Kabil Parachute Club) and under it a drawing of the giant plane, while below it appears the Afghan victims who fell from it.
Calls for “legal accountability”
The design of these T-shirts and putting them up for sale sparked a storm of sharp criticism and widespread indignation in various social media platforms around the world, reaching the point of calling for these T-shirts to be withdrawn from circulation and to sue their makers and promoters, out of respect for the lives of those victims.
After the Taliban took control of Kabul, thousands of people flocked to the airport in the Afghan capital in search of a flight to escape the rule of the militant movement. There, chaos broke out and tragic images spread of hundreds of people who were running with a giant US military transport plane.
Some Afghans had already managed to get hold of the plane before it took off, but the fatal crash was theirs a few minutes later.
