Today, Saturday, the Deputy Head of the Teachers Syndicate, Dr. Nasser Nawasra, said that there is a systematic targeting of the symbols of teachers, led by the late captain, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hajaya.

Nawasra added, in a post on his page on the social networking site “Facebook”, that he received a promise from the head of the royal court, to build a hall in the place of the funeral of the late Teachers Syndicate, in Tafila Governorate, and to name it after him (Dr. Ahmed Al-Hajaya Hall).

He continued, that he was surprised that the municipality of Al-Hassa in Tafileh transformed the hall into offices, describing this as a “coup” on the promise of the head of the royal court, and targeting teachers, their union and their late captain.

“Systematic targeting of the symbols of teachers, led by our captain, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hajaya, may God have mercy on him.

I was a witness to the promise of the Chief of the Royal Court in the Consolation House of Al-Hajjaya, may God have mercy on him, when he promised to build a hall in the same place of the funeral, and it is named after the Captain of Teachers, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hajjaya, may God have mercy on him.

As for the Al-Hasa municipality to overturn the promise of the royal court and turn the hall into offices, this is a precedent of its kind, and it targets teachers, their union and their captain.

We do not know what these parties want in the animosity of the teachers, and will the soil (the cemetery) be closed to the teachers on 8-30 when the teachers want to recite Al-Fatihah on the soul of their captain on the anniversary of his death?

The Amman Court of First Instance had decided last March to accept the lawsuit filed to dissolve the Teachers Syndicate Council, while the Deputy Public Prosecutor of Amman decided, on July 25, 2020, to stop the members of the Teachers Syndicate Council and members of the central body, branch bodies and administrations, The union was suspended from work and its headquarters were closed for two years.

The Ministry of Education also decided, on July 27, 2020, to form a temporary committee to manage the union’s affairs administratively and financially.
