A human rights study presented by the Awareness Foundation for Research and Development documented the number of victims of the Rabaa Al-Adawiya Square massacre, which was carried out by the Egyptian security forces and the army against the demonstrators in the square on August 14, 2013.
The study said that the massacre caused a great and extended social crisis in the Egyptian society, extending horizontally to cover 25 of the governorates of Egypt, whose sons fell martyrs in Rabaa Square, and extending vertically, with the community losing a valuable asset of its sons with diverse professions and cadres in different sectors, as well as the loss of quality of values and lovers. Freedom.
She pointed out that knowing the identities of the victims and martyrs of this massacre is a very important scientific work to compensate for the failure of the current authority to establish the truth, and even the absence of justice and the concealment of facts. So that there is no way to have a clear knowledge of the victims and to seek justice for them, and to hold accountable those who neglected their right to life.
She explained that this work documented the occurrence of 1,014 victims during the brutal dispersal of the peaceful Rabaa Al-Adawiya sit-in on August 14, 2013, where the share of Cairo governorate alone was approximately one third of the victims, while 24 other Egyptian governorates shared the rest of the number.
