A young mother in the town of Batrmaz, in northern Lebanon, was able to defy the difficult circumstances that surrounded her in the distant past, to achieve outstanding success and obtain a high school certificate, setting an example of the determination of her five children.

The story of the young woman, Nour Ibrahim Khalil, is considered strange in the second millennium era. After she became a mother at the age of 16, she returned to school after 11 years, to obtain a school certificate.

The young woman, Nour, submitted a request to the Lebanese Ministry of Education to allow her to return to school, where she succeeded well after an absence.

Nour said: “I joined a high school near my residence and wore my school uniform. I fulfilled my dream. I sat among the high school students with pride, touched the books and wrote on the wooden board.”

And she continued, “I organized my time well, as I return at night to my husband’s kitchen and prepare food for my children, who also achieved great success this year, and made me feel proud.”
