Capitol Police said they are investigating a truck suspected of containing explosives near the Library of Congress building.
On Thursday, the police responsible for securing the US Congress building evacuated two buildings belonging to it, in order to examine the place and verify the authenticity of the communication that reached it.
And she said, in tweets she posted on Twitter, that she had vacated the “Cannon House Office Building of the Congress and the Library Building.”
She added that she “has begun investigating a threat of a bomb inside a suspicious truck located near the Library of Congress.”
And she called on everyone to stay away from the vicinity of the Congress building and the library in general.
The Library Building and Canon House are separate from the Capitol.
It is noteworthy that the staff and members of Congress are on vacation this week.
Today’s incident comes months after a bomb was left at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee in Washington, a day before thousands of rioters loyal to former US President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol in January.
