Johnson: We are working to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said that his country will work with other countries to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan, noting that any recognition of the new government must be on an international basis.

A statement issued by the British Prime Minister said today, Tuesday, that Johnson had a telephone conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, during which he affirmed his country’s “commitment to work with international partners to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan and the region.”
