Jerusalemites have launched calls to stop real estate and homes in the occupied city of Jerusalem and surrounding the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to place them under the ownership of the public Islamic endowments, with the aim of protecting them from diversions and preserving them.
These calls come against the backdrop of the recent leakage of Jerusalem properties to settler associations, specifically in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Real estate diversions raise a state of shock and anger among Jerusalemites, and raise alarm bells about what the occupied city is facing in terms of Judaization and diversion, which are carried out in twisted and illusory ways.
Deputy Director General of the Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem, Sheikh Najeh Bakirat, said in an exclusive statement to “Safa” agency, that protecting Jerusalem real estate constitutes an important message and a great responsibility that falls on everyone (individuals, families and institutions), and on everyone who wants to protect property in the Holy City from Leakage risk.
He stressed the devotion of Jerusalem efforts to protect property and real estate, whether in Silwan, Sheikh Jarrah or Jerusalem in general, and to prevent their leakage, and to place them under the ownership of the endowments, as a major priority issue.
He pointed out that the Qara’in family in Silwan recently launched an initiative to urge the townspeople to end their homes as an atomic endowment, and this initiative was discussed in the presence of a group of scholars and interested persons.
Kiryat praised this initiative, describing it as good and important, but it is still under study, and needs extensive study and tributaries for its success.
He stressed the need to protect real estate from loss and leakage, especially in light of the Israeli attack that seeks to dismantle, strike and displace the Jerusalemite community, with the absence of a protective force for it, given that the occupation no longer cares about any laws that protect the Jerusalemite.
He added, “Protecting these properties and making them an Islamic or atomic charitable endowment may keep Al-Maqdisi strong and provide him with tranquility and security in his city and home.”
He indicated that the occupation harnessed all means, including the legal side, the courts, the police, and the municipality, to attack the Jerusalemite and rob him of his home and property.
Bakirat considered that Jerusalem’s calls to stop real estate reflect a great patriotic feeling, but at the same time, cases of leakage must be dealt with, and real estate should be protected by studying each case separately.
He said: “The occupation authorities are exaggerating the leakage process to say that the Palestinians sold their land and property, and in order to frustrate and weaken Al-Maqdisi and strike his psyche, after he achieved victories in the battles of Bab Al-Asbat and Al-Rahma and others.”
He noted that the issue of leakage is not a result of the moment, but rather exists in the presence of the occupation, stressing the need to deepen Jerusalem’s awareness of this issue, and the practices and malicious methods of the occupation, as well as deepening the idea of ribat and popular resistance in Jerusalem.
Bakirat called for the existence of institutions, whether endowment or legal, that work seriously to protect and support al-Maqdisi, and raise awareness of the dangers of diversion, adding, “With our bonds, our institutions, our presence, and our resistance, we can protect our real estate and property from any dangers.”
In turn, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Muhammad Sarandah, called on all the Jerusalemite villages surrounding Al-Aqsa Mosque to endow their real estate, either as an Islamic or an atomic endowment, so that this property remains not under the family’s ownership, but rather the property of the general Islamic endowments for the benefit of family members, and no one can own it except the people who They can live within the conditions of endowments.
He pointed out that all the properties surrounding Al-Aqsa are real estate, either an Islamic charitable endowment or an atomic endowment that constitutes a protective fabric and a protective shield for Al-Aqsa.
The Silwan Lands Defense Committee had discussed the initiative presented by the Qaraen family to urge the people of Silwan to stop their homes, and the mechanisms to be taken to make this method a success, which will prevent and limit the diversions that take place in Silwan.
The attendees stressed the necessity of inviting a team of lawyers from among the people of the country to study the legal mechanisms that must be followed to preserve humans and the stone, and not to fall into unimaginable consequences at this critical stage that the people of Silwan are going through in particular and in Jerusalem in general.
They stressed the need to educate citizens to go to endow their homes and lands, and to move forward in adopting this initiative when its pillars and mechanism of action are completed.
