The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” welcomed Algeria’s position, in its unlimited support for the Palestinian cause, and its efforts in leading an African coalition to expel the Zionist entity from the membership of the African Union.

The movement said in a statement, Thursday, that “this position expresses the popular Arab and Islamic consensus that rejects normalization with the Zionist entity, and expresses Algeria’s firm and original position in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause.”

In its statement, Hamas praised the Algerian role, which is well aware of the security, political, social and cultural danger to African countries and peoples, resulting from the accession of the Zionist entity to the African Union, even as an observer member.

Hamas called on African, Arab and Islamic countries, and all the free people of the world, to stand up to their responsibilities by taking similar steps that are consistent with the positions of the peoples who reject normalization and support our Palestinian people. It also called for making every effort to besiege and isolate the Israeli occupation, hold it accountable for its crimes, and support the right of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence and to return to their homes from which they were forcibly displaced.
