Dr. Nikolai Kruchkov, an immunologist, declared that some believe that an increase in body temperature after vaccination indicates the effectiveness of the immune response. How true is this opinion?
In an interview with Radio “Sputnik”, the expert points out that the high temperature after vaccination is not the only possible phenomenon after vaccination.
He says, “A person can feel pain and swelling at the site of vaccination, as well as high body temperature, general weakness and malaise. That is, the classic symptoms of cold diseases. All these symptoms are related to non-specific immunity and the ability of the immune system to respond to non-specific external stimuli.”
According to him, these phenomena do not directly indicate the emergence of an immune response. Because after receiving the dose of the officially registered vaccine, a constant level of antibodies arises regardless of the phenomena immediately after vaccination.
He says, “If a person does not feel any problem after vaccination, i.e. his temperature does not rise and so on, this does not mean that he will not have immunity against the disease. It is also not permissible to say that a person whose body temperature rises and lies three days after vaccination, will be He has a high immune response.
The expert adds, the fear of the danger of these phenomena should not become a hindrance to vaccination, because the infection of the emerging coronavirus is much more dangerous.
