The famous Russian doctor Alexander Myasnikov warned that the hookah is more harmful than cigarettes in terms of the risk of developing cancer.

On the set of the Rossiya 1 TV channel, Myasnikov answered the question of what is more harmful to the human body: hookah or cigarettes? The doctor described hookah smoking as a more harmful addiction, although many people mistakenly consider hookah use to be safe.

“When we smoke hookah, we inhale as much harmful substances as we would if we smoked a pack and a half of cigarettes,” Myasnikov said.

The doctor explained that smoking hookah is accompanied by inhaling dangerously high doses of fine smoke particles. These microscopic particles formed by the combustion process, during extrusion, can cause small burns in the lungs and provoke tumor processes in places of lung tissue damage, causing lung cancer.

Alexander Myasnikov emphasized that there is no smoking that does not pose a danger to humans. He said cigars can be a carcinogen (specifically, oral cancer).
